University life is a time of exploration and growth but for many, it’s also a time of silent struggle.

Let’s talk about what we often don’t

University life can be overwhelming. Between back-to-back deadlines, endless group projects, part-time jobs,

and trying to figure out what the future even looks like, it’s easy to lose track of how we’re actually doing inside.

More and more students these days are dealing with anxiety, burnout, and emotional exhaustion and they

don’t say a word about it. Or maybe they don’t have anyone to say it to..

The hardest part isn’t always dealing with the stress it’s talking about it. Mental health is still treated like a taboo in

many places, even though awareness is growing. Some students avoid the school counsellor because they’re afraid

of what others might think. So, they keep going until they break believing that asking for help means they’re weak.

But mental health isn’t weakness. And ignoring it only makes things harder. The good news is that many universities,

including Pai Chai University, have been actively expanding support systems for students mental wellbeing.

At PaiChai University, the Mental Health Counselling Office is located in the SP Building. It provides free,

confidential support for all students. It’s not always easy to take that first step but resources like this truly make a difference.

Still, real change starts with the conversations we have with each other. The ones where we admit “Yeah, I’m struggling”

and that’s not met with awkward silence but with understanding. We’re all human. And that perfect Instagram

story or top grade doesn’t mean someone isn’t going through something quietly.

As a student myself, I’ve seen how tough things can get. But I’ve also seen how powerful it is when

someone reaches out listens or simply says “You’re not alone.” That’s where real strength starts. Change begins with

awareness of the world, but it’s your heart that holds the power to act.
